The great idea around the concept of attraction marketing is the fact that people can “get a taste” of what it is you are offering them before they actually commit to purchasing or subscribing to your website. Ultimately, people are getting “free value” without the hassles of signing up right away or without having someone make a decision for them. They gather all this free valuable information and make an educated decision themselves whether or not to “give up their highly guarded credit card information.
What’s also great is you are establishing yourself as a vendor who prefers to give value to the masses first, then make a sale second. This also says you prefer to establish a long lasting relationship with customers rather than a one time sale. Ultimately, the more value and upfront information you provide, the more trust is established and ultimately the more transactions are completed.
Would you rather chase after customers one at a time or have five or ten customers a day travel to you? This is the mindset of an attraction marketer. They are acquiring customers after enticing them with valuable information about the product or services they can provide.
Now, what I have found to be somewhat troublesome and almost impossible to avoid is all the other great stuff online that gets in the way of promoting any internet business. I am talking about all the distractions such as the social media sites, auction sites, free stuff sites, etc. It can become overwhelming at times and sometimes impossible to avoid.
With so much information floating around the internet, I personally want to absorb as much as possible. If I am not constantly reading my emails (and they never seem to stop coming), I am commenting on my colleague’s YouTube videos or posting another update to my blog on Facebook. And of course, I have to see what is on sale on eBay. With all this at the touch of a button it seems like an endless task to establish a routine to conduct business online.
One must train themselves to focus on the task on hand and make time for the more important business building stuff, such as giving more value to their potential customers. Scheduling one’s time is of high priority when working online. Planning your activities and keeping time with your schedule can ultimately create more freedom.
Remember, once the work is done and the money starts to roll into your merchant account, you’ll naturally have more time to socialize and focus on other methods of marketing.
