Social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter allow you to connect with anybody around the world. For a retail shop however, most of your customers are still local. To drive traffic to your retail shop,
Create a profile page for your shop
- Create and brand your Facebook fan page and Twitter page with your company name (Twitter.com/companyname or Facebook.com/companyname).
- Make sure that Twitter profile has a custom background design and also the Facebook fan page has a well designed profile banner and welcome/ landing page to entice the new visitors to like the page.
Add interesting content
As it is widely put forth “Content is King”, the retail store has to update its Twitter and Facebook pages with interesting content on a daily basis. There are also various free/ paid applications which will post the daily content on a timely manner.
Give your audience reasons to visit
Content and engagement plays a great role in getting the audience to visit the store page for regular updates. Stores can come out with coupons/ freebies/discounts to get new people to visit the physical store through social media marketing . Retail stores can use their in-house staff or outsource their social media management to experienced companies who will do that on their behalf.
